Jengibre Fuego |
Gordy is a registered 22 year old Paso
Fino gelding that arrived at our rescue in February 2008. His
owner was leaving for a tour of duty in Iraq and wanted a safe place
for Gordy to retire. Gordy does have issues with the ligaments
in his front legs and can only be ridden very lightly.

Jenny Lynn |
Jenny Lynn is a 29 year old, gorgeous dun, Quarter
Horse mare that came to us in April of 2005 from a friend of ours.
She has been a broodmare her whole life and is now here for retirement
purposes only. Jenny Lynn has navicular disease which makes it
difficult for her to get anywhere very quickly, however, with the
right pasture mates, she does very well. She will live out the
rest of her days at the rescue and will become a part of our Horseless
Kids Program.

Misty |
Misty is a 24 yr. old, chestnut/white
pinto Arabian mare that came to us in September of 2005. She is
a very sharp looking girl and a real sweetheart. She came from a
friend of ours who just didn't use her anymore. In the past,
Misty was used in the Western Pleasure show ring. Her gaits are
phenomenal. She will remain here at the rescue and live out the
rest of her days. |

My Southern Comfort |
Whiskey is a 17 year old registered
Breeding Stock Paint gelding that arrived at the rescue in March of
2006. He stands 15 hands and is a very sweet boy. He
came to the rescue because he was rescued from someone that had put
a wire in his mouth instead of a bit when he wouldn't listen (nearly
severing his tongue). He is now a very sweet and loving horse
that loves attention and now rides just fine in a hackamore.
He is remaining here at the rescue and is part of our Horseless Kids
Program. |

Robbie |
Robbie is a 22 yr. old gray Arabian
gelding that came to us in August of 2005. He came to us because
his owner had to move to New York and she felt that she just couldn't
take him with her. It broke her heart to leave him behind
because she owned him for 17 years. He does have what is thought
to be ringbone in his right back leg. In the past, Robbie was
used in the English show arena and did very well when he was in his
prime. He will now live out the rest of his days here at the
rescue.

Sadie |
Sadie is a 15 year old sorrel/white overo
Paint mare that came to us in July of 2005. She is about 15.2
hands tall and is a real sweetheart. She loves to be bathed
and is a real treat hound. In the past, Sadie was used for
4-H, showing, trail riding, and therapeutic riding. Three
years ago, she was diagnosed with lower ring bone in her front left
leg and therefore cannot be ridden at this time. With the
proper veterinary care and corrective shoeing, she may be able to be
ridden by a light weight rider. Sadie will remain at the
rescue and be used in the Horseless Kids Program. |

Shydee was born at the rescue on May 30,
2007. She has turned out to be quite a big girl.
She has been weaned and now spends her time with her new best
friend, Cricket
(who is 1 1/2 months older). Check out the picture of the two of
them
sleeping. If you would like to read more about Shydee and her
mom, Tessa, check out their
story. Shydee
is not available for adoption at this time. |

Skip |
Skip is a 20 year old, buckskin Quarter
Horse gelding that came to us in August of 2005. He is about
15 hands and a very stock boy. His previous owner rides and
hunts a lot out west and because of Skip's arthritis, he was unable
to make the hard rides and Skip was donated to the rescue. He
can be used for trail riding, showing and you can even shoot off of
his back. He will remain at the rescue and be used in the
Horseless Kids Program.

Zippos
Comanche |
"Slimer" is a 20 yr. old registered,
sorrel Quarter Horse gelding that came to us in October of 2005.
He is an extremely large horse standing about 16.1 hands and weighing
in about 1350 pounds! In the past, Slimer was used for halter,
Western Horsemanship, hunter under saddle, western pleasure, and hunt
seat equation. He was shown his whole life and now needs to have
things settle down a bit. We are pretty sure that he has
navicular disease and he will need special shoes in order to be
ridden. He is having natural hoof trimming to help him walk a
little more normally. He came to us from a therapeutic riding stable and will now remain
here at the rescue and become part of our Horseless Kids program.
